Artist Michelle Ideus is no stranger to painting paradise. Staying close to nature's beauty, her bold color and lively brushwork reflect the spectacular areas in which she has lived and traveled. Colorado mountain scenes, Maui and Oregon ocean fronts, broad landscapes of the Columbia River Gorge and delicate flowers of many regions decorate her portfolio.
Since moving to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Michelle has added horses to her repertoire as well. Numerous visits to the area's rolling meadows and local ranches have inspired her "Horsin' Around" series of mixed media paintings.

Michelle's media include oils, acrylics, pastels, pencil, lithography, and collage . Her newest originals combine acrylic painting with collage imagery on canvas, resulting in a 3-D effect that adds personality to her subjects and exudes her passion for color and individuality. Michelle's portfolio includes originals, prints, cards and commission work.

Her History

Michelle Ideus received her B.F.A. in 1990 from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. Since then she has displayed her paintings in many galleries, gift shops and restaurants throughout the Western U.S. Michelle currently lives in Steamboat Springs Colorado.
